Later in the Day

Thanks for your sweet comfort....

Earlier Today...We've had many tears... The girls are played in the back yard now... squeiling at each other...We've made cards for her.... Megan wrote that "Holly had sunk her heart"... all w/ dog bones....

And I had to laught at the last vet visit... Kerry went with the girls and the vet said "She's no spring chicken..." and Lillian said "NO!! She's a dog!" Ha!!

We burried her this evening... The girls sweetly put their collection of rocks to mark her resting place.... and covered it w/ fresh grass & flowers.... We had talked about her getting older... and knew she had heath concerns... but the events of today were heavy....

Holly slipped out of her collar and ran to bark at another dog... when she was hit...The quiet of bedtime has brought it all back.... It was just a really hard spot to be... horrible to see... and to go thru it all w/ the girls....

Tonight... The girls are just OK... tonight has been rough... they want to make it someone's fault... we are working against that... but there's a heavyness and loss.... Not long ago I talked w/ a friend who struggled as a nurse and if she made a mistake and someone died... A Christian doctor pulled her aside and said if it was God's time there was nothing they could do to keep them here... and if it was not their time... they'd live....

I'm very thankful that the girls did not run after her into the street... I'm thankful that Holly was not grusome and she did not struggle... she looked like she was asleep.... I'm thankful the men helped get her home.... and I'm thankful my hubbie came right home to be with us....

Thanks be to God!!ss

Barking in Heaven

Oh.....Today we went for a walk.... to pick shamrocks and read of St. Patrick...

And while we walked Holly ran into the road and was struck by a truck... she died immediately...The girls and I watched in horror.... a block from the house....The men, working in the constructin behind us, stopped and were so sorry...

They brought Holly home.. as we cried walking home...Kerry is here now....

Barking in heaven,ss

-- Cry for help and you'll find it's grace and more grace. The moment he hears, he'll answer. Just as the Master kept you alive during the hard times, he'll keep your teacher alive and present among you. Isaiah 30:19

I’m so sorry. My heart breaks for all of you. I pray that the girls will be able to accept this accident without scars too deep. Love,Mom - Memon

Stephanie,I'm so very sorry! I know what it's like to lose a loved animal!!! I'll be praying for peace and understanding for your children (and you). Love and prayers, Angela

I am sooooooooooooo sorry for you all, Steph. I know how easily and tragically this sort of thing can happen. Don't kick yourself. You have a sovereign God who loves Holly very much. As my grandfather said, "if Dogs don't make it to heaven, they go somewhere just as good." He also told me that when you close your eyes and remember them, you will still have them- they'll be there. As you can tell, we have lots of history with dogs. MUCH LOVE, Steph and family! Robin
