Warts

My 9yo had 2 unsightly warts. One placed on each hand. We treated them with what the Dr. recommended with no success.

New to DoTerra essential oils... I decided to give oils a try.

We first used the recommended Oregano. Did you know that is a hot oil? My daughter found it to be quite hot when it accidentally got on her face.

Next, we used Frankincense. I liked it's smell better, but this was an expensive oil. Would something else work?

Finally, we used Lemon. In a mini vial she was able to treat herself. One day picking n pulling on the wart she made it bleed. We still treated it with the Lemon oil. Reminded every now and again... morning and night... and anytime we remembered.

September 9!!! The last one FELL OFF!!! Her hands are totally clean!! Not a mark at all!!! I wish I had this as a kid... but instead have a scare where one was burnt off.

Impressed!!! ss

My Lesson on Oil

My first look at oils… When I think of oils, I have vitamin E. What else is there??? Oh, have I got so much to learn.

How to care for a family with essential oils… class at Evelyn’s with Wanda 5/23

Lacy’s story… we watch a promo on a child with unexplained weakness and loosing ability to walk and play… as a last resort she tried Frankincense oil… with dramatic results. She was totally better running and playing.

DoTerra
Therapeutic grade oils are 50-70x more potent than herbs.

Pubmed.com is info on essential oil in use

Aromatic & Topical & Internal
Some oils irritate & need to be diluted… fractionated coconut oil & olive oil are best
Other options almond oil & apricot

Family Physician Kit, 5 ml (95 drops) each
6 single oils
4 blends

NOTE: These are my casual notes… just what I’m learning and pondering… and asking questions about!!!

Ok… that’s what I’m learning about!! I’m getting an education on oils. This is not our modern meds…. But I am far from that track…

I have membered with DoTerra so do check out my site… http://www.mydoterra.com/79475
There’s info and videos… and I have a really cool book…. Modern Essentials- A Contemporary Guide to the Therapeutic Use of Essential Oils. It lists the oils and uses as well as ailments and oils. Hollar and I’ll look up or come by with it!

Another class is in the works… let me know and I’ll keep you in the loop!

Down time n Disconnect

We are heading into a planned downtime. Disconnect.

Do you ever want to just unplug from all the techno storm? Well, we will have an official down time. This is not a techno glitch... it is not the frustration with not being "connected."

This is an intentional disconnect... so I can focus on other things.

This is a benefit of our MIFI. We are reaching the end of our 30 day... By choice we will leave a window open.... we will disconnect.... and after a day or maybe a week!? We will again connect!!

In the downtime... I put down the pod that so often catches my attention... I'll not facebook... or have any word with friends.... I'll not email...

I hope to read a book... go for a walk, bike or maybe work up to a run! I hope to study a passage of scripture... to meditate... really give a chance to sink in....

Down time... starts soon... and I'm not sure how long I'll last!!! A day... yes... a week will be a stretch!!!

Mifi Day 1

What is a MIFI? A mobile wifi.. that uses a cell signal.... more detail on http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MiFi Why? I have longed to cut off our cable bill... it's been our internet connection. We are recently out of contract and the bill spiked.... I was loathe to recommit... we do not watch cable unless ther is a tornado close or other big event... Cost? Monthly the MIFI runs $40 for unlimited usage... We bought our Virgin Mobile MIFI at Radio Shack for about $150... we can purchase either 10 days or 30 days at a time.... there is no commitment... they use the Sprint network. Use? We are using the MIFI for our pc internet and our mobile devices... itouches... up to 5 devices can connect to it. Speed? Down 977kb Up 184kb... it is both slower than our cable and cheaper... I can deal with it! Challenges? We have taken a month to get the mifi in working order... we have had some set up issues and customer service said it was programmed wrong after 3 calls and 11 days down.... So now we are up and running... Testing? We've used it home and on the go.... it works where Sprint phones work... we even got some signal camping this weekend!! Day 1: As of today this is our first day totally on the MIFI.... sometimes I find the pc switching signals betweed the MIFI & the prior network... that's a hubbie issue to resolve.... We've had to locate the MIFI at our pc desk for optimum signal. All and all I'm thrilled to turn off the cable!!! Just turning that off saves money!! Grace! ss

Letterboxing n Carving

Finally Lovebug is carving her first Letterboxing stamp!! She has a beautiful rose from Valentines!!! Here's the in process and the final stamp.

Ladybug carved her horse months ago. Both girls outlined the figure then we carved away the extra.

I've found the best way to transfer an image. Design on the pc. Print with laser onto tracing paper**** tracing paper gets stuck before the heat bond!!! Open printer an carefully remove print. Toner sticks on the pink carving stuff. Image is clear and backwards perfect for a great stamp. girls carve on lines!! Done in 30 min!!

I'm eager to carve more!!! I'm also ready to letterbox!!! TALE8

Two Faced

Our snowman looks to the street... And he looks toward us. He is so two faced!! :)

The snow was all powder!! Yet it was packable. Hubbie plowed snow from the drive for the makings. He wanted a taller snowman but with the girls wandering to play, Mr Snow needed to be done.

He is our first Mr Snow. After Januarys snow we admired all snowmen. Now we have joined the club. I hope he sticks around for a few days. The big melt has started with the sun shining so bright.

This is our 2nd snow. I'm thrilled. We made lots of cocoa. Girls appreciate the snow bibs. Now we just need snow gloves for those little pink cold hands.
