Our saving grace!!! This is truly our "How to travel!" We enjoyed the hundreds of miles....
Ahead of the trip.... some 20+ surprises were wrapped in paper bags.... I don't remember all they include. Each bag has a clue on the outside... night light, shape me, make me, help me, pop.... we'll enjoy them for 900+ miles to get there... That's alot of bags & I've made enough!!!
I've been collecting all kid's meal toys for weeks. Each time the girls willing surrendered these items for "the trip"!! I added to that many dollar-ish items.
Every 100 miles they had to agree to a new goodie bag!!! Here's a sampling!!
- Long shapable balloons **A big hit enjoyed for hundreds of miles!!
- Foil to create & make something (Hubbie wondered why I had to find it before we left!)
- Invisible marker book they had to share
- Dinosaurs from Wendy's were a hit!! And timely with our day trips!
They've not found: Pop Rocks, Large shaping pipe cleaners, Friendship bracelets how to, snake magnets, silly puddy.... and who knows what I don't remember...
O these really made the trip!! Marking off the miles worked much better than I timed event... Even now the girls want these bags packed for our next 200 mile trip to more family!!! I think they'll be fun... I even have a few left!!!!

These goodie bags every 100 miles even helped the girls understand just how far 100 miles really is... This was a great idea. Kudos to the mama.
